Question:

Dodge Magnum Speakers...

I have a 2007 Dodge Magnum SXT. I want to know what kind/brand of stock factory speakers are in this car. I know that they're 6x9's I just want to know the brand and specifications.

Also, I notice that @ higher volumes I get some distortion. The bass in these speakers are good but the highs could be clearer. After messing around with the EQ in the factory head unit I cant get it to be any better. So do you think changing the speakers would help. If so what kind should I get?

I was thinking something like the Kenwood KFC-6950S or Jensen POWERPLUS693 which are in my price range for 4 new speakers. Would these be an upgrade from the stock speakers or a downgrade?

I would consider changing the head unit too but I have a sirius radio subscription and I want to be able to keep it. Also, the speakers that I mentioned are speakers from Al and Ed's auto sound website.

Thanks

  1. No,they are not boston Acoustics. I would suggest you go to Best Buy and talk with the "professionals" and also here the speaker they have on display

  2. I also have a Magnum. Mine did not come with the 6 speaker system from the factory, and had a muddy sound. I added dash speakers (I believe they are 3 1/2) which dramatically improved the sound quality, and the wiring harness is already there for dash speakers. I was told that all Magnums use Boston Acoustics so the speakers you are talking would be a downgrade. As far as bass, add a sub....the rears just don't have enough airspace regardless of speakers!

The professionals at Best Buy? Are you

sh&%ing me? If you want to talk to someone who can advise, call crutchfield, NOT worst buy. And, according to the techs at my local Dodge dealer, they are ALL BA speakers
