  1. Not the best trucks as far as reliability.  If you are still interested, have your mechanic look over the truck.  If it checks out and you like the way it drives, offer $6900.

  2. avoid

    Dakota 2WD 06

    Dakota 4WD 98-99, 05-06

the 04's are rated the worst for fuel systems and transmissions

all are rated at average or well below average

    owner reviews:

.The power drivers seat is terrible. No support at all. Very stiff feeling. The engine is a piece of junk, as well as most of the parts on the Dodge. I baby my vehilces and this one is just falling apart before my eyes. At 40,000 - it has become junk!!! Front ball joints, fan clutch, water pump, power steering pump, transmission control module and valve. $3800 in repairs and climbing. The interior is cheap and falling apart. I have not even pulled a boat much with this and won't - the tranny is going - even though they said they fixed it. This is by far the very worst truck I have ever owned. Pure Junk! It is a complete joke and I will never buy another Dodge! EVER!

Interior seats are not well constructed. Have fabric bunching problems on rear seats. Leak holes in bed for drainage are too small. Consistent problems with CV joints on left side.

  3. my father bought one with a salvage title that was totally trashed (missing doors, mulitple colors, burnt appulstry from the previous owner from smoking, etc.) and fixed it up completely and it runs great.  its a sport and although i dont know how many miles it has it sures runs great and besides the smell is a pretty nice truck especially for a salvaged one
