  1. If you're steering wheel wont move as well, your steering is probably just locked.  Try turning the key while jiggling the steering wheel, or putting pressure on it, left or right.

  2. check and make sure its all the way in park if its not it wont allow the switch to turn ,thats usually the cause of that happening,if thats not it,then the key and tumbler set may have worn out enough to cause this to happen,i got an 04 model in the other day that was doing this and it had less than 60 thousand miles on it,so mileage or age doesnt have anything to do with a part going bad, make sure though that its all the way in park, that will cause this too happen a lot on some of the newer vehicles, good luck

  3.     Spray it down real good with a penetrating ,oil pb blaster works good then just keep re-inserting the key it should turn but sometimes they take some work.

The 98 and newer Chrysler ignitions do that alot usually just amounts to alot of dirt built up in there which causes the sidebar in the cylinder to hang up. You might also try and just buy a key blank no cuts and try inserting that several times just to get the wafers moving.

If all else fails try the local locksmith.
