The former Corinthians youngster went on to concede that the reason behind his move to the Giallorossi was due to their persistence to sign him despite his injury.
The South American caught the eye of many clubs with his enterprising and energetic displays for the Brazilian side. Amidst all this interest, he chose to sign for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952, and he explained his rationale behind making the decision.
The defender has been out of action since November 2011, and he will need time to get back to full strength. While discussing the reason behind his move to Roma, ahead of all the interested clubs, Dodo went on to state:
“Roma showed their interest before, during and after – that was decisive for me when I had to make a decision.”
The youngster damaged the ligaments in his knee; his recovery has been slow but the player has been making progress. The Brazilian went on to state that he is working hard to achieve full match fitness, and went on to state:
“My recovery is going well, even if I’m lacking a bit of strength. That’s why I’m working hard to get back in shape as soon as possible.”
Big things are expected of the new signing, who had been linked with a move to former Premier League Champions, Manchester United. Besides the big expectations from the player, there will be the added pressure as Roma have put
a lot of faith in the youngster.
When quizzed whether he would be able to fill in on the expectations, Dodo was confident as he had to fill in the boots of the legendary Brazilian left-back, Roberto Carlos. He was further asked whether he had the experience of
the formation expected of Zdenek Zeman, and he went on to state:
“…I’m used to playing for an important club and I had to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Corinthians-c38855. I’ve played in a 4-4-2 and 3-5-2, but also the 4-3-3 – it is a formation I know well.”
Zdenek Zeman is expected to make several changes at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603, and he has started work already, after banning his players from consuming cakes and coffee.
