The little groundhog that pops out of his hole during nascar races?

I think it is one of the best nascar "figures" I have seen in a long time.

I think it gives some nice camera angles but seriously why do they act like it's the most awesome thing in NASCAR history lol? I couldn't believe all the merchandise they said was sold with it. I didn't think digger was that big of a deal

*****I do not agree!  NASCAR has gotten too far away from what the fans expect from racing.  Even the new song, "Lets go racin' boys." is kind of stupid.  What has happened to our redneck good times sport.  Foreigners and politics are slowly destroying the idea that the most talented teams are the winners!

Digger is another silly idea for commercialism.  NASCAR is rough and cool, not NICEY and Amusing!

for a while it was funny but now it's just boring. every race they use the digger thing about 20 times and it gets old after a while.

"digger" is not the first "in the track" camera to be used.  not only that, but digger is only the mascot for the camera.  i have come to like the camera shots, but hate that digger himself only knows how to do one thing - popup, look at the camera (he should be watching for the cars, to not get run over), then shrieking and diving back into his whole.  

i don't like the name the fans chose for him, and i really cringe at all the merchandising and plugs for dwstore.com. did anyone see trackside this week where dw made a big deal of giving that former american idol contestent from north carolina a digger doll?  his hawking of "digger" products was shameless and embarassing (and i like dw). but how sincere is a gift given only so he could promote it? it's the thought that counts and his only thought was to sell more stuff on dwstore.com.

keep the camera, run over digger once and for all.  and call humpy wheeler to see how we can make a spectacle of it... ;-)

Well one thing for sure he has a fan base, Digger is getting rich with all the Digger Gear out there..He is cute but I think he might have a early retirement age, or there might be some little diggers come along to replace him.

Yeah,Digger is funny.Always makes me laugh,primarily when he screams in horror when a car comes and he sees it,lol.The camera angle and sound is AWESOME as well.

I don't mind when they use the camera to show us different angles. But, when the gopher pops up and screams and DW and the boys all start laughing I just die. It was funny the first few times, but we are like 13 races in, get over it already. It isn't that funny anymore, is it? It's like hearing the same joke over and over, after awhile it's okay to quit being polite and laughing I think.

what's the big commotion about a camera? seriously why didnt they just say "we will be debuting some new camea angles to get you up close to the action" instead of making such a big deal and coming up with a name. surely nascar is more exciting than this? isnt there 43 drivers out there? or are peoples senses of humor so easy to get going that they get excited when they see an animated gopher at a NASCAR race. i want to see a race, not a gopher screaming.

Digger was an overnight sensation for FOX and for fans at home to see him get his due when his lil head pops up and see the tires coming at him, what a hoot.... the camera angles are great and Digger does his job well, that lil scream is hilarious!!!..I was at Darlington and could not believe all the "Digger" shirts. WTG on merchandising
