  1. Are you in the UK, I shall assume so for this reply.

Firstly I do sympathise, I too have a permanent medical condition requiring regular prescriptions and the service from Doctors and pharmacys/chemists is often disgraceful and does make you very angry.

However - as far as I can tell, other than a wasted journey you havent actually lost anything have you?  Yes they will have insurance but you need to suffer some kind of loss as a result of their error before they will pay out - I doubt you would get anything from their insurers for just being messed around - in the UK at least.

I should find another pharmacy, coimplain very loudly in the current pharmacy in front of their customers and tell anyone who will listen how rubbish they are, write to your local paper if you feel very strongly - they may be prepared to write it up.

  2. OK, you can't file a claim directly with a business's insurance policy.  You have to file a lawsuit, and actually SUE them.

So, you are suing them because they aren't open on Saturdays?  I don't think you have much of a case here, but hey, go to a lawyer, see what they say.  If they won't take it on contingency, it's because you either have a lousy case, or it's not worth much.

Ya kinda have to plan ahead with those meds, ya know?  Giving a pharmacy ONE day's notice isn't planning ahead.  Common sense, guy!!  What if they were out of that medication??  You can't sue them for that, either!

  3. Are you saying they didn't have the medication in stock? If that is the case then you have no cause for a claim against them because you could have taken your prescription to another pharmacy that had the medication in stock.

If you went to pick up your prescriptions and they gave you 4 and you accepted them and left the store why would it be their fault if you knew you were supposed to pick up 5 prescriptions? You said these were medications you take every day so didn't you notice you were missing one when you picked them up?

If I misunderstood the problem then I'm sorry. Your description was a bit unclear.
