  1. uhmm welll. my sister had a rat. all she did was fill up the tub just a little bit, but made it so that at the end of the tub it was dry. and she let her rats runn around in the water. and they pretty muchh cleaned themselves. she didn't really use soap, thouughh. and if she did, she used a very little bit of it. 2. i dont know anything about rats but my gf has had them her whole life and this is what she says

oh. I put it in the tub and use a cup or something to pour warm water over it's body, avoiding the head): and then use some shampoo [I used cat shampoo, recommended by our local pet store]and put that on and rinsed it off the same way.

  3. Well I breed rodents and before someone takes one home this is what I do. DONT USE SOAP!! It could damage there skin and make it itch; then they would l**k themselves and it could make them sick. I get a cup of water a toothbrush. I dip the tooth brush into the water and lightly scrub them with the toothbrush. Its not necessary to dry them. They l**k themselves clean. Good Luck!! ^_^

  4. Well I used to have 2 rats. We didn't set them in any water because, like you said, it's hard to keep it out of their ears, etc.. We would get them wet with a wet cloth and then put the shampoo on them. And to get the soap off again just do the same trick with the soaking wet cloth, just rubbing it over their fur until it looks like the soap is gone. Then just dry them with a dry cloth ^_^

  5. rats are very clean anyway. soap is a pointless thing just water should do fine. just let em have a swim around

  6. i give my two rats alot of baths and the are soaking and then decide to jump on me..but an easier way you can use that chinchilla dust stuff it will keep them smelling good!

  7. i bath my rats all the time, you put them in a sink or bath tub.fill the water up to there neck, then gently scrub them.you can use baby shampoo.then take them out put them on a towel and put the shampoo on them.then after thuraly scrubing them with it put them back in the water and rinse them out.make sure you got all of it out.then to dry them off you can use a hair dryer, but put it on low.i hope this helps,i use this methode all the time.

  8. i just put a bit of water in the bath tub and let them play in it.. they end up splashing themselves clean, or i use a little bit of animal shampoo

but make sure all the shampoo is off and they are totally dry otherwise they will get sick

  9. I would get a cloth/rag damp with warm water and a little bit of rat shampoo(if it exists). Your rat will be more comfortable. I have done this with my mouse
