  1. Yes, but not very well.

  2. My salary in Tokyo is around 250,000, but my living standard is not high enough. I guess than you gonna have problems to live in Tokyo with that little money...

  3. If you can live in an apartment without bathroom (You have to go to public bath), you can. But you cannot be better off than that with only 134,000 yen.

  4. Maybe you should check this question

Some person named 田中 said that there are 3 bedroom apartments for rent in Tokyo for only 950 yen per month. That's really cheap so you could definitely do that on 134,000 yen. Maybe if you emailed that person, she will tell you where to find those apartments.

  5. thats like $1,300USD. So you probably could. If you have an apartment thats $700/mo you would roughly have to budget a use of $600.

Ways to save are to grocery shop instead of eating out every night. Don't overlook 99yen shops. Their fruit supply is just the same and you can get basic food supplies, and some basic cleaning supplies too (dishsoap, etc.)

Get a monthly train pass. Its way cheaper than paying out of pocket daily. I had a friend who was paying out of pocket complaining she spent $50 on transport for the WEEK. She thanked me when I told her you can get a monthly pass for certain parts of the train system for something like $150/mo depending on your start/end.  If you can get ahold of a bike thats good too (for your body, environment, and pocket! lol).

Most people tend to try to live on the outskirts of Tokyo to save money on the get-go for rent. The closer you get to the center, or popular areas the more money it costs. Well except if you live in a guesthouse or share a place.
