????

It's an entry level position in the field that I want to get into. It has really great benefits...but it's just so d**n far away! and now with gas prices...i don't know if it's even worth it!

  1. I feel that it is worth it. I am personally going through the same issue, yet my entry level is only 11.00 per hour and an hour commute. It is very hard with gas prices and especially if you have kids because that is 2 hours each day unpaid work. But try not to think of it like that. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices to get what you want and especially if it is in the career field that you want, I say go for it. :)

Another thing would be if one of your friends or family that lives close and wants to get into that career path too, if they get the job with you, both of you can carpool and make it such a cheaper commute. :) Good luck with whatever you do. :)

  2. i do the same thing, except I get paid $15.30 and travel 1 hour and 15 minutes...You should really itemize your expenses (including cost of travel) to see if your expenses will be met with the pay you will be recieving. My car gets only 15 mpg, I have a $900 rent, plus my other bills, and I am pretty comfortable with everything after taxes so, this might be something that will be good for you. However, it's now summer so I now get to save on gas $ by riding my motorcycle to work :P good luck :)

  3. seen the economy lately? be glad you have it.

  4. I would move closer to work.

I live 1.3 miles from work and ride my bike. Can't remember the last time I bought gas.

  5. Shoot..... I dont know what kind of place pays that high for entry level but I make $7.50 / hour as a dishwasher in indiana

If you dont take it could you let me know where its at... lol

  6. Hey, you live in an area that has nice weather most of the time, and most of the year. Consider getting a little (250cc)scooter or motorcycle. Not only are they fun to ride, but your gas expenses will be cut by 2/3, as you'll be getting 80 miles to the gallon.
