Does 2002 RSX have timing belt or timing chain and when does it need to be replaced?

chain...never needs to be replaced...(unless you do something terrible to blow the engine..)

It has a chain. it would be best to change it at 90,000 miles just to be safe, even though it is said to last the life of the car but it will get loose and at one point brake. I had a timing chain and it broke while i was going 80 on the middle of a busy interstate. 1,000 miles away from home. Change it at one point.
