In Greece, we had a dictator in the past with a surname that is really common nowdays (Papadopoulos). I was wondering if this is the case in Germany for 'Hitler'? Does this surname exists or is it very uncommon?

  1. While Hitler may have been a pretty normal last name before, many people with that particular name have probably chosen to change it because of the negativity associated with it. The same probably goes for naming someone Adolf as well.

  2. oh it exists. even in america too. but they are not necessarily related. besides, he was austrian. so i'm sure the name is common in austria too.

  3. I'm pretty sure it will, but I am also equally sure that people will probably just change it because they hate what Adolf Hitler did, and do not want to be connected to it. But that doesn't necessarily mean that they are related to him.

  4. I bet most of his relatives changed their name.  I would!

  5. Yes,it is a common enough surname.
