Does'nt anyone care?

Doesn't anyone care about what could happen to the world on December 21, 2008? I was watching some things in the History channel you know how they are always explaining how the world will end. So they were talking about how the magnetic poles would shift and something like that the North Poles would start becoming really hot and the South Poles would become really cold. Do you believe that if so then why isn't anyone caring that their world could end like in 3 or 4 years?

And why do you choose Dec 21? Dates for the end of the world have been claimed by people since there were people in existence. Nobody knows when so all you can do is do what you can.

even if it started this year, we wouldn't immediately see the effects

and there is no current evidence that one has actually started, probably the movement is normal oscilation

I hate when the supid History channel and science channel are trying to say when the world will end. Only God knows when the world will end! Don't believe it when they say the world will end on a specific day!

If you are suggesting that the world could end by a worldwide flood, then you are wrong because the Bible clearly states that god will never again destroy the earth in a worldwide flood.

Life is already too short.  Spend all of your days, living life to the fullest.  Worrying about predictions of when the world will be ending robs you of that.

A shift in the magnetic poles is a geological regularity that has nothing to do with Dec. 21 or life on Earth. The only big changes would be that many birds would be disoriented during a shift, but they are very adaptable, and we'd need to recalibrate compasses. There would be massive problems if the Earth shifted on it's axis, changed it's axial tilt or anything like that, but magnetic pole shifts have very little impact on anything. The History Channel is like any media outlet, they produce and air things that will get people to watch and few things do that better than a good scare. That's all this is, though, so don't worry about it.

Oh my god!!!  Time to start hoarding food.  Dude actually the poles are constantly moving right in the last century the have moved several miles.  And what you are refering to is the end of the Mayan calendar which ends on 12-21-12.  Relax there have been several end of the world claimants and they have been wrong.  Also why stress yourself out about this if it is the end of the world there is nothing we can do to stop it.  If you on the other hand do believe the world is going to end on Dec. 20th send me all your money.
