Does 'shipped' and 'delivered' have the same meaning?

I ordered a product from Canada using my credit card. A confirmation was sent to my email stating that my credit card will not be charged until the product is shipped. Also in that email, it stated that the product will not be delivered for 6 weeks.

Shipped means it has left the building and is in transit.

Delivered means you know have it.

No.  Shipped means the day it leaves their hands.  Delivered is when you actually have it.  The charge will be on your card weeks before you get your package.

"Shipped" means when they processed it out, put it in the truck. As for "delivery" it means the time it will take to get to your door (anytime within six weeks).

I think shipped means the product has left the stoe or distributor. Delivered means it is in your hands, or at your house.

Shipped means they have turned it over to a carrier, like UPS, Post Office, etc.

Delivered is when you get it.

Those are legal terms.  

The 6 weeks until delivery sounds like a blanket sort of statement that really means "Don't pester us with phone calls and e-mails for a while".   Its intended to cover stock outages and possible delays by the carrier (UPS, FedEx, Post Office......)
