  1. The 2000 Chevy Z-71 5.3 liter with 285 HP engine tows really well. The standard towing rate is 5400 lbs and the max towing rate is 9400 lbs.The reason you tow in the tow mode is to keep the transmission temp down and stop the overdrive system from working that will cause high trans temp and extra strain on the system while towing.Best of luck.

  2. IT pulls good.

I have Tow/Haul in my 2001 Suburban, all it does is disable the overdrive gear in the transmission so on the highway the trans is not shifting every 10 seconds.

  3. No, Chevy's are known to not have any pulling power.  The tow and haul system is worthless as it doesn't lock the transmission out of overdrive it just changes the shift points for better torque.

Personally I own a 2008 Toyota Tundra 4x4 with the 5.7L V8 and it has more torque and horsepower than the Dodge Hemi's.  Look at a Toyota as they're made in the USA which is the largest reason I got the Toyota.  I also had a real bad experience with a Chevy and since then I've never even looked at them as being worth hard earned money just to have the Chevy sit in the shop almost 3/4 of the year I owned that POS.
