The one in my area does. What is a real convenience store if they don't have basics like newspapers? What else would they sell if it isn't those?

yes my local 7/11 sells the Daily Telegraph, the Sydney Morning Herald and the Australian, plus I can get my local community papers for free too.

Some do; some don't. It depends on whether there's a newsagency close by, as the newsagency has first rights to the sale of newspapers within a specified area.
