Does 8 speed Campagnolo down tude index shifters will work on 7 speed?

I need index shifters to my 7 speed campy cassett, but they are realy hard to find. Does 8 speed will work? ISs the spacing the same?

I don't know for sure but I'm running 8 spd Record Ergo levers with a Sachs 7spd freewheel and it shifts fine.  If I remember, the spacing on an 8spd cassette is slightly smaller than 7spd but I think it should work.

Should do, but you should be able to switch to friction shifting if it's not working properly.
