Does 911 on a deactvated home phone line?

someone told 911 will still work on a deactivated home phone. long as the phone lines are hooked up. But i cant find any info on it.

  1. should work as long as ur phones still plugged in. cell phones with no service (as long as they have a signal), pay phones, and land lines should all be free to call 911. or at least thats the way it is in NC


  2. yes it will still work just plug it in as you would if you had service and it should work.

  3. It depends on your service provider...I think AT&T and Verizon are activated. But not sure about any other phone companies.

  4. I doubt it will work.  Once deactivated you won't have a dial tone, so can't dial.

  5. I know it works on a cell phone...but i am not sure about a home phone.

  6. Yes, it will work with Verizon for sure, not sure about any others though.
