i had a severe throat and chest infection...the doc prescribed me antibiotics for 1 week...i completed the course and my throat is great now,my chest is also clear and i can breathe properly, their is no mucus either......but since the last 2 days i am experiencing that my face and forehead gets a lil hot for sometime and then it becomes normal after a while, why is that....i used a thermometer and it read 98.4 when my forehead was normal and when my forehead became a lil hot after like an hour or 2,i immediately checked and it read 98.8 and 98.9 a lil later.......do i have fever....i dont think there is any infection left....my throat seems normal....

  1. No, that's in the normal range

  2. I think you can't rely on the heat you felt from your forehead.. it is not accurate.. If the thermometer says it's just 98, you don't have a fever.. Maybe you just feel you're still sick because of your previous medications.. Just rest to feel better

  3. NO. That would be normal.Doctors consider it a fever when your temp reaches 101-104 anything above that is very serious.

  4. It depends on what YOUR normal temperature is. Our bodies don't all run at 98.6. I run at 98.8 on average, and my grandmother runs low at about 98.7 degrees. Seeing as you aren't experiencing any symptoms other than the slight temperature, I'd say your fine. Often times antibiotics will mess with your temperature a bit. I consider a fever to be 99.6 on up because it is a full degree above the average. For me though it runs about 100. As long as you aren't experiencing any symptoms of an infection you should be fine. And after a week of antibiotics, the infection is pretty well knocked out of your system. Your heart rate increases to support the lymphatic system to create lymphocytes to fight off the infection. This increases the temperature slightly. Recovering also increases the temperature a bit, but not very much. It should start to dissipate in 24-48 hours.
