I just bought a Verizon blackberry for the purpose of communicating with my husband in Iraq since I am never home to talk to him on the computer...

First I tried getting skype. No, doesn't work.

Then I tried aim. Nope, my phone is not supported.

I need to find something that he can use on the laptop and I can use to message back and forth quickly that is not email and not texting...Can anyone help me?!

  1. I'm not sure about what applications, but i know that you can enable the Javascript.  Open the internet brower, hit the BB menu button (left of the trackball), go to options, then enable javascript.

  2. There is a chat program called JiveTalk allows you to chat on all the major instant messenger clients: AIM, Yahoo!, Windows Live (formerly MSN) and GoogleTalk. There is a free 30-day trial at http://www.beejive.com

As far as the JavaScript not working check the Browser settings. If you go to Browser > Options > Browser Configuration make sure there is a check mark in Support JavaScript.
