Does AVG free edition heal/quarantine/delete viruses/trojans? ?

I want to uninstall mcafee because it is saying my computer is not protected, and I do not want viruses/trojans. Do it delete/heal/quarantine them?

You can't rely on AVG at all. I suggest you download the following for a all around protection package.

Avast antivirus

Spybot search and destroy

Comodo BOclean

Comodo firewall Pro-------One of the best firewalls along with zonealarm

Comodo safesurf

These programs are all free for home use.

AVG is not any good.  Here are to free excellent antivirus programs

Or you can go with Avira from Germany free for home persoanl use.  This software has a very high rate of detection around 97.6%, higher then Kaspersky Russia.

Yes AVG Free Edition will do all of those things. I highly recommend that you uninstall McAfee and use AVG as AVG is a much less demanding program. Same thing goes for Norton Anti-Virus. I say go for it, uninstall McAfee and install AVG.
