Does Achilles's loyalty to his friend justify the way he treats Hector?

  1. put yourself in Achilles shoes and answer that question! (: I personally can understand why he acted like he did but i don't think his actions were right


  2. Not really. He completely disrespected Hector's body in front of his people and wife and child. This was totally inappropriate even in those times. I can understand why he did it though, of courses he was very upset. This still doesn't make it right.

  3. No, but Patroclus' death was really Achilles fault, for refusing to fight himself and for letting his friend go to fight Hector in Achilles armor, and I think he knew it. His fury was expressed at Hector's body, but was largely based on his own guilt for sending his friend off to die while he continued to sulk and pout in his tent.
