Does After Sun lotion really help you keep your tan??? If I get burnt, will that ruin my tan? one year i got burnt really bad and 2 weeks later it tunred into a medium dark tan that lasted for months (unfortunatly i had cloths on and it was during a graduation in the sun that i got burnt so i had Bad lines.) I'm confused becasue people say getting burnt makes your tan peel off or somethin but it didn't for me.

Oh and what is better for a quick tan product. The lotion or the dark tanning oil?

  1. If you get burned I think after sun lotion will help it heal and turn into a tan, i don't think you'll peel if you use it.  But getting burnt isn't good for your skin no matter what.

  2. Once the skin is burned no lotion will assist you in getting a tan. The only thing ANY lotion can do is to desensitize the skin to the burning sensation.

It is becoming apparent now after some 65 yeras of study, that no suntan lotion or sunblock is effective at protecting you from harmful ultra violet sun rays that is known to cause skin damage and skin cancer.

Best to try a rub on bronzing agent and go to the prom looking like a freshly roasted and honey basted turkey then to chance getting hurt with a sunburn. Skin cancers on on a definite rise in young people. And WHATEVER you do, STAY out of suntanning booths.
