  1. Do you mean the amount of time since the shares were purchased?  (by the way it's affect, not effect)

    What affects the value of a stock is the price people are willing to pay for it.  This in turn is influenced by tangible things like price to earnings ratio, profitability of the company, obvious trends in the industry and the economy and by intangible things such as fear and greed.

    But in and of itself the age of a stock is not a good predictor of the value of a stock.
