I heard some people say that Allah ignores womens prayers when they have their period b/c they are in a state of "dirtiness"

What does Islam say about women who have their period? Are they considered in a lower caste than men and considered "dirty"?

  1. Allah is ever-listening. He will never ignore his servants.

There's the story of the old man who worshipped his idol for 80 years. He would say, " O Sanam! O Sanam!"

One day he was dozing off and by mistake ha said "O Samad" (Which is one of Allah's names).

A voice came from the unseen and Allah replied by saying, "Yes, what would you like?"

  2. The 5 daily prayers require ritual purity which you cannot obtain while on your period. Therefor, you can't pray the 5 prayers but you are encouraged to pray to God in du'a form instead (which is not as formal). Your prayers are still accepted if God chooses to accept your prayers (your prayers may not be accepted for many reasons: asking for something not halal and so on.)

  3. Allah loves females in all situations and never ignore Muslim women..

Women can read memorized Quran and do Glorifying Allah by Zikr and Tasbeeh of Alla during these days.

Allah has excused women  from performing Salat because of their impure condition.  They don't even have to make up the Salats they miss during their periods.

Women are not required to fast if they are breast feeding a baby, in sickness or during periods.  They can feed one person two meals a day for all the days they  loos or  they  can  make up the fasting days they miss in the following month by fasting the same number of days they missed or they can fast in rest of the year before Ramadhan month of next year starts.

Some suggest to take pills available to postpone the females periods.

I would say it is onstructing the system Allah SWT  has made in their bodies.  It should not be disturbed or else I am afraid women may develop some other problems in their bodies.

  4. You see here you used the wrong word hun such as "Ignore".  Now it sounds like women are like 2nd class,etc.. Be very careful of the words to  use becuz rite now it sounds very disrespectful. Its just that we are impure and you know  that when you pray your praying and bowing down to Allah(SWT) and to be impure its not really respectful. But now since you know you learned something rite..Lol

    Peace And Love..............................

  5. erm.. no

    its not lowering women

cuz blood isnt considered clean and since the blood doesnt stop for a while then she cant pray

    theyre not considered 'dirty'

    but maybe u r ...

  6. praying like asking and thanking god for something

    that is accepted

its just to perform salat thats what they cant do because its considered unclean

  7. did u forget that Allah is the All seeing(AL-BASÎR), all hearing (AS-SAMÎ'), and all knowing (AL-'ALÎM)

doesn't matter if you are on ur period or not Allah hears everything you say and sees everything you do no matter where you go...

  8. Women are not supposed to perform salat when on their periods. They are not "dirty" but they are not in a state of physical cleanliness to pray. They can make duah, read quran & do other acts of "worship" just not fasting or praying.

    :)

  9. People are forgetting that this is actually an Ahsaan (Ease) of God on women to exempt them from formal prayers during that one week.

Many women experience a great deal of discomfort and pain when moving about or moving in the Muslim prayer positions.  Hence, praying would be extremely difficult upon them.  This is actually a Mercy of God to exempt them from formal prayer.

Furthermore, to say their prayers wont' be accepted is not only false but also illogical.  If someone is not praying formally due to a provision provided by Allah, why would He then punish them for listening to Him and reject or ignore all their duas?  Totally illogical.

Allah most certainly hears all prayers at all times.

love for all, hatred for none

  10. You can still make dua and dhikr!!!

Trust me, it won't be ingnored.

And it's a nice break from the responsability of salat.  Especially if you don't feel well the first couple of days.

  11. women on their periods cannot pray or fast because they are not well enough to do so. as you may know some women experience very bad menstrual cramps

Allah does not ignore any of his people and women are not considered lower than men. Islam is the only religion clearly stating that men and women are equal.

being on your periods is simply unhygienic which is why a woman on her periods cannot fast or touch the Quran.

  12. Dear,

    Peace upon you.

In the name of Allah the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Al-Mighty God created women. There's nothing to do with dirtiness. Women being given a high position and Mentruating women and those giving birth to children are not enjoined not to pray and are exempted from performing their prayer and fasting later.

Women are not allowed to fast and to Pray while having period. That an order from the creator Al-Mighty God Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala.

    Thank you.

  13. Allah does not leave us nor ignore us unless we are sinners til the Day of Judgement. It is just that they are not clean nor healthy to take prayers.

Allah made Eve bleed because she has made the Tree bleed. That is why there is menstruation.

It maybe because of that moment that serves as a reminder.

  14. You see Muslims must be clean to pray and having blood or bleeding prevents one from praying because it is not valid to pray with blood or dirt on you. it is haram to pray while dirty or with blood. Abolution must be done and all Muslims are required to pray after they clean themseles. It is not true that women are lower class. Just Allah, swt, gives us a break from prayers, when we have our "illness".

    salam sister.

  15. No, it isn't like that. When women have their periods, they are not supposed to pray namaz(salat)  or touch the Quran, bc they are unclean. We can recite surahs, and Pray to Allah.

  16. I'm sure if allah actually existed he probably wouldn't be paying that close attention to a woman's menstrual cycle.

  17. Don't worry.  Allah ignores everyone's prayers.  Since prayer in Islam is just recitation of the Koran, and since Allah wrote the Koran, he's heard it all before.

I touched my wife during her period.  Guess I'm going to h**l.  Anywhere to keep me away from that psychopath Allah.

  18. "They ask you about menstruation: Say, it is harmful; you shall avoid sexual intercourse with the women during menstruation; do not approach them until they are rid of it. Once they are rid of it, you may have intercourse with them in the manner designed by God. God loves those who are clean. Your women are the bearers of your seed. Thus, you may enjoy this privilege however you like, so long as you maintain righteousness. You shall observe God, and know that you will meet Him. Give good news to the believers." 2:222, 223

As we know, many Islamic Scholars tend to abuse the meaningful verses of the Quran to benefit their own agendas. One of the abused verses that I would like to write about is verses 2:222-223.

First, let us tackle the misunderstanding of the Islamic scholars regarding these verses. They have innovated religious laws prohibiting menstruating women from observing the Contact prayers, fasting, and even touching the Quran. However, a careful study of these verses shows that God is teaching us about personal hygiene, and there is no law dealing with the religious practices in these verses.

As we know, menstruation is a feminine issue. Ironically, it is the men who ask about menstruation and the revelation is directed towards the men. Now, what could possibly concern a man regarding a feminine issue, except for his own interest in sexual matters? God answers the men by initially letting them know that having sexual intercourse with a menstruating woman is harmful, and they should not approach them until they get rid of it. The phrase "get rid of it" is "tatahharn" in Arabic which is the same word used in 3:55 when God tells Jesus: "I am terminating your life, raising you to Me, and ridding you of the disbelievers."

However, if this verse were referring to women's religious practices during menstruation, God would have directed the verse to the women. As it turns out, neither in this verse, nor in any other verse God forbids menstruating women from practicing their religious duties; it only refers to personal hygiene, and the statement of "your women are the bearers of your seed", in the following verse proves this fact. A man and his wife are allowed to have intercourse in the manner designed by God, which is vaginal intercourse.

The only way a woman can be "the bearer" of a man's seed is through the v****a to the uterus. By mentioning this statement, God is prohibiting non-vaginal intercourse. Therefore, the statement of "however you like" cannot be misconstrued.

Now let us look at the point of view of the opponents of religion.  Their view on this matter is that God humiliates the women by such statements. On the contrary, God is preventing men from viewing women as sexual objects and from sexually abusing women by commanding the men to have sexual intercourse with them in the manner designed by God.

It is noteworthy that the statement "as long as righteousness is maintained" is there to protect the woman. Please note that this verse does not only deals with the physical aspect, but also moral aspect which does not allow a man to abuse a woman by forcing her to have s*x anytime without her consent. Also important is the fact that the statement of "maintaining righteousness" comes immediately after "however you like", to prevent physical and moral abuse.

God ordered the husband and wife to live in love mercy and tranquility 30:21. Therefore, when all activities in marriage are based on this statement, which is the source of righteousness between spouses, it's more likely to prevent any evil and vice in marriage.

We send down in the Quran healing and mercy for the believers. At the same time, it only increases the wickedness of the transgressors. 17:82

  19. Are you kidding me? Sounds like just another Muslim way of belittling women and keeping them as second (or third) class citizens.
