  1. No. Countries do not have a teams as they're owned by manufacturerers, sort of. I say sort of because the Red Bull team is not a manufacturer, the buy their cars FROM a manufacturer so, they're the sponsor. As for American, the last American driver was Scott Speed who drove for the Red Bull team last year. He's now a stock car driver, back here in the states, on a team sponsored by Red Bull. A couple of years ago, Red Bull had done a search for an American driver to drive in F-1 and, that's how Scott got his ride.

  2. The USA do have an A1GP team... Jonathan Summerton won one of the races in China recently...

American teams in F1 over the years have included

    Penske

    Parnelli

    Scarab

    Eagle

Kurtis Kraft (When the Indy 500 was still part of the championship)

    Tec-Mec

    Haas-Lola

and Ford funded the works Jaguar team most recently...

The last American driver was Scott Speed... who raced for Toro Rosso in 2006/07... before that was Michael Andretti in 1993

  3. i am sorry this is not an answer but a correction of steve m, Red bull do not buy there cars they build them like every other team on the f1 grid, they are based in milton-kynes, Adrian Newy is in charge of desgin and build.

  4. well - they are the ones operating the cranes at the venue - lol.. no as my friends above have already said, no american constructor/teams are based in the US (for obvious reasons they are based in Europe ginen the large number of races in Europe)

  5. dave: hes talking about if there is an american f1 team.... you FOOL

i dont think so but all i know is that the last american f1 driver was scott speed

  6. The last American team in F1, was Shadow.

    1973 - 1980.

    One win, seven podiums.

  7. It's the A1 GP series that has countries, not F1.

  8. There are no current teams based in the USA (it seems Nascar is more the motorsport of choice)

The 2007 United States Grand Prix was the seventh race of the 2007 Formula One season. It was also, for at least the time being, the last Formula 1 race held in the United States.

  9. fool, the cars are manufacturers not countries

  10. American Formula One Drivers

While the last Formula One race won by an American was the 1978 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, many American drivers have made their mark in F1 over the years. Mario Andretti, who won that race in Holland, was clearly the best: During a fourteen-year F1 career with six teams, Andretti collected 12 wins, 18 pole positions, 10 fastest laps and the 1978 World Driver's Championship. Indeed, some still consider him the greatest all-around driver in motor racing history, and the Associated Press and RACER Magazine each named him "Driver of the [20th] Century."

The first American World Champion, and still the only one born in the United States, was Californian Phil Hill who won the title with Ferrari in 1961 and had a total of three GP wins. Other Americans who have won a Grand Prix? Dan Gurney (4), Peter Revson (2) and Richie Ginther (1). Another California native, Scott Speed, was the most recent American in F1; Speed drove in 28 races for Scuderia Toro Rosso (Team Red Bull) in 2006-07.

  11. F1 teams are either European or Japanese so the answer is that there's currently no American F1 team.

Force India belongs to an Indian businessman and it's based in Europe.
