  1. Not at this time.

  2. nope they dont ... they should though!

pimp my ride is fab lol

  3. There are not federal restrictions, but each state has different laws regarding vehicle inspection and emissions testing.

California and Pennsylvania I know have Vehicle Inspections.

Nevada I know has emissions testing.

But most states don't have inspections. It would just be too hard to manage, due to the high amount of vehicles on the roads.

Here in Michigan we don't, but that's because if we did, the auto companies wouldn't be able to import foreign cars for testing on the roads.

  4. The correct term is "United States of America".

I only point it out as the "United States" part is the major difference. We are a collection of states with our own individual rules and laws gathered together as one Nation.

As such, each state has it's own requirements for safety inspections. In my state, we have an annual inspection to coincide with the annual registration during the owner's month of birth. This inspection also includes testing/monitoring of the on-board emissions control systems.

As for the poster above with the unpronouncable name, who references patriotism: You should be set out in the stocks for 2 days and nights in your underwear.

Reason: Not caring to find out just how clueless the drivel you spout is.

  5. No

  6. No.  Americans are into everybody else's problems, except their own.  Unfair to a degree, I admit.  But look at the 'American Way':  We can Do As We Want, As Long As We Are Patriotic (i,e: visit McDonalds at least four times a week!)...  Own a car that's a death trap; loaded with guns, driven by a druggie; as long as they don't speed... OK!

Drive a car with a sticker on the back stating that 'g**s Are Bad', and they will get lynched.  No penalty points for a clapped out pickup with bald tyres and bits hanging off... and an ape in the front seat.

  7. sounds like Britain is the only one who makes you jump through hoops to get an mot and then declares that the certificate is not a reflection of the cars roadworthyness after 24 hours the mot isn't worth the paper its written on our government ripping the motorist off again.

  8. No. Some states have an anual inspection, some have inspection only at time of title transfer and some have no inspection at all.
