  1. I would hope so :(  maybe not a car drivers license, but a certificate for trains :)

you have to serve a apprenticeship

  2. Yes

  3. No drivers license is required to operate a locomotive.

To become an engineer requires many, many hours of experience. If you apply for employment  they will give you the criteria. Start at the bottom and work up.

  4. The FRA requires submission of driving record for licensing purposes and license renewal for locomotive engineers.

If you can't handle an automobile, best to leave railroading to someone who can.  Besides.  How are you going to get to work a 3:30 in the morning?

  5. yeah you would probly need one im not sure and i cant remeber if i had to have mine, but i dont think i would want you to be my brakeman or conductor if you dont even have a drivers license.
