the standered bar room pool table is 8 feet long and 4 feet wide, however tourament tables are 9 feet long and 41/2 wide...

A " STANDARD' Billiard Table must be twice as long as it is wide.

In other words, a ' Bar Room' table ( quarter operated ) is generally 8 ft long X 4 ft wide....A smaller version can be 6X3...

A larger version can be 9X4.5...As long as the ratio is kept, the table will be regulation dimensions.

The regulation size table for professional pool is 4 1/2 x 9 feet.

Go to the BCA (Billiards Congress of America) website. They have all the standard dimensions for billiards equipment. Incidentally, coin-op bar tables are 3 1/2' x 7'. Professional tables are 4 1/2' x 9'. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.
