Does Anyone Agree With Me On This On Treating All Equally?

If you want everyone to be considered "equal", then everyone and everything is fair game. Your race, culture, religion, disabilties.. everything are free to be praised, ridiculed, and/or criticized.

Making fun of each other's differences is far more unifying than walking on eggshells and drawing clear lines about which differences should be dealt with "delicately".

  1. equal means equal.  you cannot pick and chose when it benefits you.  harvey fierstein had a good quote on the don imus case.

"The real point is that you cannot harbor malice toward others and then cry foul when someone displays intolerance against you. Prejudice tolerated is intolerance encouraged. Rise up in righteousness when you witness the words and deeds of hate, but only if you are willing to rise up against them all, including your own. Otherwise suffer the slings and arrows of disrespect silently."

  2. Lol, agreed. Walking on eggshells.. pfff, never in my life.

  3. I agree and im so sick of this fake openmindedness (ex tory)that seems to be in style right now.kinda like everyone should be equal... except that guy  you know he is in a wheel chairlol

  4. The answer is to simply treat others the way you would like to be treated.  If you don't like to be made fun of, don't do it to anyone else.

  5. No, I do not agree with you or your definition of "equal."  I believe in treating all with respect. Making fun, ridiculing, and/or criticizing is not respectful.

  6. some animals are more equal than other animals

  7. Ridiculing others only speaks to your own insecurity.  Why would anyone feel the need to belittle another?

Equal treatment refers to opportunities in the workplace and in an educational environment not open season on making fun of people.

  8. That is a great point.  If you feel your on top noone else can really put you or your equals down  You just think it's sad.  I guess I would only get upset if I knew I was an undesirable. (I'm not talking about looks)
