Does Anyone Have Any Babysitting Tips?

I have a 4 year old across the street along with her 2 year old sister. There is an eight year old who sometimes misbehaves, and twins that are six each :P. I can supply any sort of activity, as long as it isn't too expensive. I haven' yet babysat the 4 and two year olds, but they seem shy. The twins and the eight yr. old like to color, play computer games, play pretend, and watch (pre-approved) movies when I am over there, but I need new things to do. I really like babysitting them, but I want them to ask me to come back.

  1. try wrestling with them, or picking one up (if ou can) and twirling them til they're really dizzy its a hit lolz.

also try to get them interested in cool things like cooking a fun snack (try honey, peanut butter & cheerios make sure no one's allergic first) and anything you like to do that they might like to do, like a singing contest, or dancing contest. rule #1 always is : HAVE FUN!  so with that, good luck.

  2. since you have so many ages you should get servel of what i call a fun box. in each box fill each box that is filled with things that they like and age-level apparite things.such as age-level books and toys.

  3. They'll definately ask you back if you're FUN. Bring stickers and colorful bandages or little inexpensive toys for the children as rewards for games or to just give to them for fun. Play pretend games like pretending to be a chef or playing house. role playing careers like policeman is popular with preschoolers. Interact with them and don't just leave them watching the movie and go talk on your cellphone. watch with them, pop popcorn, have a good time and make sure they have a good time. If its okay with the parents, maybe take them to the park or to get ice cream. Bake cookies at home. Be creative and have fun. good luck!

  4. Disney has a DVD trivia game.  It's a lot of fun and you could all split up into 2 teams.  We play it alot when my 3 nephews come to spend the night with my son.  They also have it for Nik shows as well.

  5. If you have a printing company nearby, see if you can get their leftover rolls of paper.  It's very wide and on spools, it will just not be enough left on a roll for them to run a complete job but will be plenty for you.  One thing you can do with it is to cover the kitchen table (1 layer for crayons, 2 or more for markers, test first) and draw squares to design your own board games.  You could even mix and match your favorite things from several board games.  You can get dice, poker chips, etc at dollar stores.  This would be great for the older kids.  Most older kids like crafts.  Do a web search for free kids crafts and you'll get other ideas.

For the younger kids, put a couple of chairs in the living room and stretch a king sized sheet across to make an indoor tent.
