I want to start teaching my daughter some spanish and I thought it would be fun if there were something out there that was kind of focused on the family learning together!

  1. Rosetta Stone is awesome. A computer program that teaches you exactly how to say it. Can get it in MANY languages (Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, etc.)

  2. no

  3. I am on a homeschooling discussion group  where someone is currently singing the praises of The Learnables. It is more affordable then Rosetta Stone ( another great , highly recommended Language program) but because it is audio cds and book format it is more versatile and you don't have to be connected to the computer to use it.

  4. Rosetta Stone

    The Learnables

    La Clase Divertida

I'm thinking we'll add Spanish to our program when our children are older.

  5. The Easy Spanish is excellent - my son loves it, and all of the families in my Spanish class are having a great time with it.  If I were to write a Spanish curriculum, it would look a lot like this one!

  6. Try http://www.spanishpod101.com, it's a podcast for learning Spanish. Good luck!

  7. I don't know if it will be good for the "whole family" but Rosetta Stone is definitely family friendly. It uses visual teaching methods rather than the classic audio which kids, especially, are more inspired by. Rosetta Stone also comes with audio lessons.

This means that you can each learn in your own preferred way however I doubt that you will be able to learn "together" per se. This is because teach adults and teaching kids are two different ball games, which requires two different game plans.

This means that you will unlikely be able find a single course or program (most likely a DVD) which enables you to learn Spanish sitting down as a family, which is why your best bet is probably Rosetta Stone.
