Georgia did nothing. Russia has been planting fighters in the breakaway areas to attack Georgia, aided by Russian "peacekeepers".  Georgia was fighting those separatists.  Russia used this to launch a full out attack on Georgia and is using propaganda to say that Georgia was killing Russian 'citizens' in the breakway areas -- genocide in fact.  They are accusing the Georgian president of genocide and even on Russian tv when they're showing the conflict, they have a band across the bottom of the screen that says, "GENOCIDE."  Russian propaganda is out in full force.

Russia is NOT invading Georgia. Georgia was directed by criminal and war criminal Bush administration to invade small republic of South Ossetia where Russian peacekeeping forces were stationed since 1992. Russia only helps South Ossetia to drive Georgian invaders away. Our government on purpose keeps spreading false and misleading propaganda in order to make Russia look bad.
