Question:

Does Anyone think this is a better way to share knowledge, than the message boards?

When Yahoo had the message boards linked to individual stories, I found it to be much more interesting because there was some accountability to posting a stupid comment ( You would get grilled!) with the current approach anyone can say anything and there is no rebuttal, no feed back or no in depth discussion about the subject matter. I learned a lot about the science of global warming and had many discussions with many people on both sides of the fence, I do not see anything of value with this approach.

  1. If you want a discussion with the person then just click their icon and im them.

  2. Really, I found both useful.  The message boards were ideal for discussing current issues.

Y/A, on the other hand, is a good source for information--and, frankly, I'd rather the discussion and rhetoric were elsewhere.

I do wish Yahoo would bring the message boards back--or an equivalent system (I'll grant their point that the system needed some improvement).  They did say they would do this--I hope they follow through soon.

  3. no

  4. That may be but since the format here is primarily to acquire knowledge through the asking and the answering of questions, I see nothing wrong with it.

  5. hi check this link its good

    .

  6. I  agree with you 100% , they have discussion board, though (which is not the same)

Message board was  greats,  because it was news article  related (and as you said you could get/give a rebuttal)

  7. I too agree 100%.

But, there is delicate balance between letting a few mess it up for all and strict limitations to keep those who like to destroy, instead of contributing, within limits and boundaries.

As they say, every habit has limits and boundaries.

Is this the best way possible? I don't know.

I hope Yahoo continues twicking the set up.

I recently saw an annoying answer and wanted to rebuke but I found there was no way to do it directly.

Was that a major loss? I'll bet you didn't miss my diatribe.

Maybe, I will learn the benefits of civility, maybe I'll go and kick the cat instead. Have a nice day, I just saw the cat go by, gotta go.

  8. I understand your point.  While there is the potential to learn new facts and learn more about the other people online, there are a large portion of garbage answers (and questions) out there.

However, I do feel that if you can navigate your way through the wasted bandwidth, you can find out some very cool things through this site.

    Happy hunting!

  9. i learned a lot from your posting.
