Yes, it will be awarded for the first time "next year" in 2009.

The ITF and the ATP announced Davis Cup by BNP Paribas dates from 2009 through 2013 and that South African Airways ATP Ranking Points will be awarded for Davis Cup from 2009. This is the first time that ranking points will be awarded for singles and doubles rubbers played in the elite World Group and World Group Play-off Round.
