  1. We pay for her hotel bills when she comes to stay.

    Thats about it.

Oh, and we spend some loonies on a Governor General

  2. I doubt that it's a billion.Queen,England, Australia,Canada are capitalized. BTW where are you from?

  3. I wonder where that billion pound figure came from? It's still cheap for what The Queen returns to the country.

As for Canada, we pay for her transportation to and from the country when she is on tour. We pay for all her costs while she is in the country. In the meantime, we also pay for the Governor General, and provide her with two official residences: Rideau Hall, a 195-room estate in Ottawa, and the Citadel in Quebec City.

Each province also has a Lieutenant Governor who has a residence/office, and staff.

  4. about 10 years ago, the monarchy stopped drawing money from the government all together in gb... they have enough money that their investment interest is in the multi-millions annually.

  5. a billion is peanuts compared to the amount of money that the royal family creates for britain in tourism etc,and no australia does not contribute unless she is visiting us.

  6. Money is paid to run each nation's government. And the money that the Queen receives from the UK is also used to pay all of the Buckingham Palace government staffers as well.
