  1. Certainly, Australia has these mammals in it's zoo with the possible exeption of geese and deer. The reason these animals will not be found in the wild is due to the continental divide in which marsupial animals were left on australia and were unable to travel to other continients. These marsupials didnt evolve and that is the reason there are no placental mammals in australia

  2. certainly but in the wild they have more relatives of animals like dingo are related to wolves.

  3. We have wild deer and geese in Australia. The geese are native species and the deer were originally introduced from overseas. We also have northern hemisphere geese on farms. I've been to most zoos in Australia and can only recall seeing bears - no moose, beavers or wolves.

  4. Australia doesn't have any indigenous hard-hoofed animals (such as moose and deer).  And because of our strict quarantine laws, even the zoos find it difficult (at times) to import species for display.  Most zoos now are concerned with conservation rather than "display".  So unless they already have breeding stock and are part of a wildlife conservation plan, most modern zoos will not "collect" animals purely so they have an example of every life form on the planet.

Our open-range zoos have quite a selection of hard-hoofed animals (such as zebra, giraffe, antelope, etc.).  However, you should realise that some animals never adapt to captivity -- so zoos don't even bother.  We have several species of bear, including polar bears (notably at Sea World in Queensland), sun bears, and pandas.  Technically speaking, the Australian Dingo is a "wolf" -- having descended from the Asiatic Wolf.  But as for European or American Wolves, I'm not sure whether any of our zoos currently have specimens.  And if by "geese" you are referring to Snow Geese or Canadian Geese, being these birds are migratory, it would be inhuman to cage them up in a zoo.  And the same is probably true of beavers, where it would be inhumane to cage these creatures.

    Hope that answers your question.

  5. Yes, I have seen all of those animals in Australian zoos.

  6. I've never seen a moose in an Australian zoo, but we have most of the other animals.
