I entered US last year on a H4 and got my status changed to H1 (as I had the H1 approval ) with a valid I-94 and other supporting documents. I have not traveled back to my native country to get the H1 stamped so I do not have a H1 visa stamped in my passport. I am planning to visit Canada in May for a week and I wanted to confirm if the automatic revalidation of visa holds good in my this case. Will I be able to re-enter US on my H1 status without any trouble or without getting the same stamped . Please note that I DO NOT intend to get my stamping done in Canada, its a pure pleasure visit. Can anyone please advice if I am go ahead with applying a visa for Canada and plan to make a trip ?

Appreciate your effort.

  1. Teppeny is correct.  You need to ask US customs and immigration that question.  Canada will not prevent you from leaving, but the US may prevent you from coming back, so make sure before you leave.  Here are a couple of links that may be of some help.  Best of luck with your plans.

  2. you have to ask the US about that, canada has no say in who can return to the US
