Does Avatar (The Legend of Aang, or The Last Airbender) count as an anime?

I say this because it's made by people in America, but just has a lot of anime influences. But the animation style, and the fact that it's animated in South Korea may say otherwise.

Also, how awesome is Avatar? The Day of Black Sun should be on next Monday, on NickToons.

  2. Everyone has their own opinion on this. Many think it is because of the art style, but just as many think it's not because its not created in Japan.

    If you consider anime as a cartoon with a certain art type that's created in Japan, then no, Avatar isn't an 'anime'.

  3. I would consider it as an anime too, since it have an ending instead of cartoon that go on an don without considering the last episode!

  4. Ive only seen 1 episode of Avatar, and it dosent count as an anime becouse it wasnt made in Japan to begin with, nor was it a manga.

    Im pretty sure that the people made it anime like becouse most of the great shows on TV were made in Japan and kids influenced by the drawings wich made it more interesting.

    Also people like the story line, and since its anime like, herein america, people in the internet count it as an anime.

  10. AHh Wiki says no. I was elements of anime! But its really not counted as anime since it was made in America. But lets just called it American Anime!!!!
