It's not that much about relating.. it's more about the romance and the feelings they feel for one another.

I think that in the first 3 books she is showing that loves goes beyond all else. Both edward and Bella seem a bit odd but they love each other. Bella views her self as not so pretty but as you know from the guys at her school they think she is. I am sure that even the "pretty girls" have doubt about them selves too. Just be your self. I havent read the 4th yet so dont ruin it...lol
