Does Best Buy take exchanges without a receipt?

I Have a Sony Mylo, and I want to exchange it at a Best Buy for a PSP, but I didn't buy it at a Best Buy. Can I still exchange it there for a PSP without a receipt? It's brand new and in the original bow, never opened.

  1. The above answer would work, except one thing.

When you exchange somethig or ask for store credit, they will Scan your Sony Mylo into the system to see if it was sold here. Once they see that it isn't in their Outgoing Inventory, they will refuse to exchange it.

You might get lucky if you get there just as they're doing their daily test for 10 minutes between 5-7. But you have to time it perfectly.

  2. If they sell the exact same model (same packaging, etc) and it is a current model that is still sealed you may be able to speak to the manager on duty (MOD) and request a store credit. They usually give you credit for the lowest price it has sold for.

Depends on the manager's mood though. Be polite and patient....very patient (it sometimes takes a while to get an MOD).

  3. This is pretty doubtful because of the cost of the item.  I work for a Best Buy store and we usually refuse anything over $200 without a receipt because of people trying to run scams.  You can try asking for a manager - but I have to warn you the chance of this happening is pretty slim.
