Does Bike Riding Help With Weight Loss?

If I do, 30 minutes of moderate bike riding for 5 days a week, and for 2 hours for 2 days a week, and cut back on unhealthy foods, will I lose weight? xo

  3. YES!! I lost about 20 lbs this way.

    I wasn't trying to either.  I was just escaping my oppressive house.  My parents were incredibly strict and very authoritarian ( I couldn't even change the tv channel WHILE THEY WERE GONE).  Bike riding was my only escape.  I would put on my walkman and just ride.  i would ride out into the country or go down the city streets try to get lost and find my way out.  

    It was so fun. I would pack some snacks and water and leave for the whole day.  I would ride about 2-3 hours usually the weekend or a few days a week during the summer.

    I had no idea I was losing so much weight until my dad confronted me and thouht I was trying to diet.  He actually yelled at me and said "Stop losing weight!"

  4. Bike riding and any movement will help you to burn more calories. But you have to not only eat healthy but eat Less calories than you burn in a day to lose fat.

    First you need to Figure out your BMR, how many calories you burn in a day if you stay in bed and don't move you can find that out here http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calcul...  

    Then you need to multiply that number by an activity number, you can see the activity chart here >http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calcul...

    So if you do burn around 2000 calories a day then you need to eat less than that to lose fat. If you want to have more muscle and definition then you should start a strength training routine.

    1 pound = 3500 calories, so if you eat 500 calories less than you need everyday for a week you will lose roughly 1 pound.
