Question:

Does Bin Laden's driver deserve life in prison ?

Anyone else think that he does not deserve life in prison?

The dude has a 4th grade education and was living in one of the poorest countries in the world. Why are people saying hes some big terrorist because he drove Bin laden around? It was a job. It doesn't mean that he was part of Al-Qaeda of anything of the sort

Plus, a psychatrist says he can be rehabilitated.

Opinions?

  1. A get away car driver that dumps off his cronies to run inside a bank and rob it, while he's out idling the engine, is just as guilty of bank robbery as the actual robbers.  Same idea.  Life in prison unfair??  He should thank his lucky stars he's not up for the rope dance.

  2. did we go after hitler's driver?  mussolini's?

this guy's trial was made into a big deal because the bush admin is to incompetent to get bin laden - so they go after his driver and call it an accomplishment.

    it's pathetic...

  3. I think he probably does. But in fact since none of us sat in on the trial and none of us heard the evidence, so it makes no difference what we think, and we don't really have a basis to judge. Newspaper accounts of trials are notoriously unreliable.

  4. Does he deserve life in prison? Nah. He deserves to be hung.

  5. rehabilitated from what - driving bin-laden around? Did he suffer trauma or PTSD from driving him around?  Is that what he will be rehabilitated from?  What psychiatrist said this and what mental disorder does he have?

If I understand correctly - he's not been on trial for having a 4th grade education and living in one of the poorest countries in the world.

If you're DRIVING AROUND the HEAD of Al Qaeda - I think that means Al Qaeda trusts you and you're a part of it and agree with them and support them and a bunch of other things...especially if he's his DRIVER - that means he's entrusted with a LOT of secrecy and was willing to protect those he's driving around....which means he's part of al qaeda....

  6. Do you think we should rehabilitate Osama Bin Laden as well.  And yes he does deserve it because he was there and aided Osama and it doesn't matter if someone has a 4th grade education or not.  He helped someone do a terrible crime so he deserves it.

  7. here's what nobody is even talking about: where is bin laden's cleaning lady? how about his paperboy? his milkman? how can i sleep at night knowing these fiends are loose? god help us all. 30 years for driving the man around. it's pathetic.

  8. He definitely deserves something.

You can't tell me he didn't know what was going on.

He was an accessory to a crime- you can't get away with that.

And "it's a job?"  Come on.  Just because it was his "job" doesn't make it o.k.

  9. This is a political show trial - designed to test the Kangaroo Court system that the President has set up, before the trial of the bigger fish shortly before the November Election.

Hitler's Driver was locked up from the end of World War II in 1945, to October 9, 1947, without ever being charged with a war crime:

There are people who think George W. Bush is a terrorist - war criminal for starting a war on false pretenses that killed many thousands of civilians.  If you agree even slightly, the next question should be:

Should George W. Bush's driver be prosecuted as a war criminal?

Edit:  The sentence is in.  5 and 1/2 years with credit for about 5 years and 1 month already served.   I still don't think much of the rules under which the Military tribunals were established, as far as their ability to guarantee a fair trial - but I am impressed with the common sense of the jurors, who were able to tell the difference between a  member of a motor pool who was just trying to feed his family, and a big time terrorist.

  10. You are delusional if you think this man isn't a full blown terrorist. The man has ties to the number one terrorist in the world, he doesn't deserve to see another free day for the rest of his life.  I'd prefer they execute the sorry SOB.
