  1. it may be made of plant oils and veggie oil, but it takes fossil fuels to make it. you have to run the biodiesel manufacturing plant by energy from coal-burning or oil based energy plants in order for it to exist. using one to power the other is less productive than just using the main source-good ole oil refining! see link below on how it's produced.

  2. not the oil that comes from under the ground...

biodeisel is mabe from animals or plants hence the name. yeah it's oil, but not the kind you mean.

  3. Fuel is not really 'fossil' 'til its been in the ground a few thousand years.

  4. Biodiesel comes from the oil that is in the plants.  The oil that we are using today comes from plant life a long time ago.  It is slightly different but the same consept.

Note: Biodiesel will not be a good choice for aircraft.  Diesel combusts due to compression.  (Find the spark plugs on a diesel).  A jet engine works differently.

  5. All plant oil are good as fuel for diesels. All oil comes from plants. Fossil fuel is just aged plant oil. As long as our plants are ok and removing CO2 from our air,it is also making more fossil fuels. The plants have done it for millions of years.

  6. Vegatable or animal oil yes, petrolium oil, no. Biodiesel is basically liquified fat from plants like soy beans.

  7. Yes....

But they are natural , i.e. vegetable oils which are unlike petroleum products bio degradable AND renewable, as they are derived from plants..

    Hope that answer your question.
