No, as long as you know what you're getting into.

It is primarily a business tool. The interface can be a bit daunting at first, but it is easy to learn. The SureType keyboard takes a bit of getting used to; it shouldn't take any more than 20 minutes of typing to learn. It takes a while to turn on (say, if the battery goes dead), but it's not any worse than a Windows Mobile device.

No, it doesnt.  I do have the pink pearl and I enjoy it.  You have to get used to the suretype feature, but its more useful than it is harmful.

Not at all! I've had mine (the 8130) about 8 months, and haven't had any problems at all.. All functions are great, given that you can hide the icons if you don't need to use them. Texting is a breeze, and the camera works really good, and it's also nice to have an MP3 player if you like listening to music....Overall great phone, I recommend it. ;o)
