Does Blu Ray play regualar dvd's and cd's and divx playback?

The LG dual won't play CDs, but most other Blurays will. Divx is another matter. Here's a great tool that I use all the time for figuring out what does what:

I don't know what a PS3 costs these days but the Sony 300 and the Samsung 1400 are both $399

Yes, Bluray players play regular DVDs and CDs.  DivX playback may vary by model, but the PS3 has DivX support.  It's also the cheapest Bluray player on the market.
