  1. It may sound like a generalization, but all modern jet airliners have at least a hydraulic system.

The 777 has a fly-by-wire system, and the new 787 will have fly-by-wire and limited power-by-wire, meaning that it will use electric servos to move the controls.

  2. Also some FBW aircraft like the A320 have hard protections...meaning the computers will not let the pilots exceed the limitations of the airframe or extreme pitch and roll.  B777 has "soft protections" meaning that it will yell, blink and chime at you but the pilots can do it, the A320 has "hard protections" where the computers won't let a pilot exceed limitations.

  3. The B777 is Fly-by-Wire and several other Boeing models (the newer ones) are FBW or atleast partial FBW.

In a FBW system, the mechanical linkage to control surfaces is replaced with electrical cabling and actuators provide required forces for the control surface deflections.

  4. Not all. And "how do they make it"? Believe it or not, they put professionals behind the controls.
