  2. No. It was banned indeed in 1963, as stated above.

    But I heard there was a revolt some time in that year and people were armed with tennis rackets all over Rio, and Sao Paulo. Police (armed with guns) were threatened by these weapons. Strange huh.

    But some say, the air in brazil actually eats away at the tennis ball, so it lasts like only 2 mins of play. I believe this story though. Gustav used an underground tennis facility importing air from the neighbouring Argentina.
