  1. Maybe.

The new one with the Rotax engine might be a good bike.

The older ones with harley engines were limited by that engine.  Underpowered, overheated.  Very expensive for something that couldn't stand up to the competition.

  2. They are essentially harleys  They use the same engine and so on.  Harley's of course are great bikes.  However, they are more prone to mechanical problems than the japanese bikes.  Google motorcycles and you will find many articles on this brand

  3. Buell was a hand made bike by eric buell for the first few years in mid 90's. Its motor is a harley davidson sporster engine. towards the later portion of the 90's harely bought 49% of buells stock then a few years later bought the company out completly. buell is now manufactured as a sub company of harley. the best of them so far was the 96' S1 lightning.

  4. from what ive heard they are good. They run the same motor as some harleys

  5. buell what a great all round  bike they are a harley motor that go very well. With j*p forks and rear shock  that make the bike handle real well. With a nice short wheel base.

And nice looking bike. The 1st ones where made buy Eric Buell the man him self.

I have had mine for 5years and have never put a spanner to it yet. Just keep up with the servicing. Very reliable

And have a real good price range right thought  out all there models  for every one to aford

2008 best handling bike on the market

  6. I personally do not like the looks of the Buells, but that aside, they are good bikes, very durable. I've seen several come through the shop that have had some serious issues, but if you don't treat a bike right, you will have issues.

The Buells are built around the Harley ideals, and Harley is a very successful company, so you know it is a good product.

  7. they are very different motorcycles.

Here is a in depth review and comparison of one of their flagship models, the Lightning.

The buell is great but very hard to control.

In my opinion, they bikes have great concepts, but poor execution.

  8. I love how granta first says that he hasn't put a "spanner" to his bike, then tells you to keep up with servicing...

it's a decent sportbike limited by a weak, low revving engine...

    your money's better spent elsewhere...

  9. the nay sayers are anti-harley from some psych problems yet to be determined

anyone else with common sense can see that buell has some fantastic engineering designs no japp c**p could dream up

fuel in the frame rather than the "tank" area, exhaust as low as can be, rotors on the outsides of the rims as opposed to all the weight in the middle, and more

  10. I am sure they are good bikes but I probably do 6 or 7 track days a yr and I have never seen one Buell out at the track so that tells me something and I ride a Ducati. I heard the new Buell with the big motor is the first Buell that actually could compete with the j*p or Italian bikes and I think I heard these motors are not made by Harley or Buell but a 3 party company like Polaris or someone like that. Also since Harley just bought MV Augusta Italian bike brand that has been around for 75+ yrs and I am not sure if Buells will be around forever but only time will tell.
