excuse me, it wasn't his fault that he picked Brown to head FEMA?

It was not his fault that the FEDERAL emergency Management administration did not warn about the devastation of a cat 5 hurricane?

It was not his fault that FEMA under the management of Brown did not even know about the people dying in the convention center?

It was not his fault that FEMA under Browns management did not get food or water into New Orleans until hundreds had died?

It was not his fault that under Brown, FEMA could not draft a rescue effort?

Who chose Brown to be head of FEMA when he was not qualified for it?

  1. wasn't his fault.the incompetent governor and mayor of the state were most of the blame.why do you think they replaced that great democrat governor with a republican? this in a democratic state! must have been that big bush s***w up huh? you libs kill me!

  2. just a photo-op to try and salvage his "legacy"

  3. regardless of what an incompetent president and world leader he is,soon to be was Bush the Buffoon ( or pres Shrub as he is known , that is a little bush) wore this one by default.

He was the commander in chief and head of the government and his agencies were found to be wanting when called upon.

Despite sucking at the tax payers t*t for years the agencies of the Government charged with the responsibility of helping out US citizens in trouble did not answer the call when required AT ALL LEVELS OF MANAGEMENT!

Chertoff (Homeland security) is also a criminal for his lack of action  because he refused to allow the Red Cross to help victims of Katrina. He also denied over 100 Floridians who offered to provide swamp boats to help rescue stranded victims right of entry, not because of health or safety issues but because in his own little xenophobic mind he was worried about "terrorists" ...seriously terrorists could have made it worst?.

Days prior to Katrina the City of Chicago offered to provide heaps of personell , machines , equipment etc to assist what they new was going to be a disaster, all the agencies would accept was one water tanker.

Bush is a failed leader that personally chose and lead proven failed leaders like Brown and Jerk off ..oops sorry Chertoff...  to fill critical roles in essential services.....  the buck has to stop somewhere and he is it ! Lets face it If the FEMA had performed well would Bush have taken the glory ...you betcha!

He may not have been  directly coordinating or managing the efforts but the fact that he dragged his heals and was indecisive , just like 9/11 makes him a very big part of the problem and not the solution regardless of what political fence you sit on.

You can argue Republican/ democrat all you want the fact is that people lost there homes, their livelihoods and some even their lives..... and why?...  because the people who managed the agencies entrusted to assist and protect the victims and their families  FAILED monumentally at every turn.

The main leaders of those Agencies were  chosen by Bush after recommendations from his yes men (and 1 women).

  4. it was a convenient excuse.

  5. Let see........

Problems in NO where caused by broken levies & the reason for it was Mayor Negen & Governor Blanco squandered the money federal government allocated for the repair...........

People of NO knew for a week, just like now with Gustav, that the hurricane was coming, what the h@ll where they waiting for?

  6. Talk about a loaded question. Here's the deal. Fema's response was terrible but the overall response was worse. The Gov. of LA and the Mayor of NO were completely out to lunch. Incompetent doesn't adequately describe their lack of action. They were so far out of their depth it was laughable.

Just for the record, NO has been given billions over the years to address those levies but where did the money go? Into the pockets of cronies etc. and why, because NO is as corrupt as any African dictatorship.

Look at the poor people of NO. So dependent on government they didn't have the d**n sense to come in out of the rain.

So we can blame Bush, but look at the people of Mississippi. They're got NAILED by Katrina, many lost everything. But what did they do? They set about rebuilding. Gov. Halley Barber did a magnificent job getting that area back on it's feet. What did the wards of the state in NO do, they violently looted their city, demanded handouts and then said "look what I did, it's all your fault".

  7. Your a Liberal, blame Bush,What was your liberal Governor doing and your liberal mayor doing ,Nothing but watching the looting.

  8. No-one can pull a Katrina 'wasn't his fault' argument. It was a federal emergency and he dropped the ball.

When did the buck cease to stop at the desk of the President?

Yes, I suspect he's not going to make the same mistake again. It provides him with the opportunity to salvage SOMETHING...his legacy is set though. There's really very little he can do about that now.

On the upside for the GOP...at least they don't have to have him stinking up the RNC with his illiterate, glazed-eyed mumblings and goofy smirk.

Why people continue to make excuses for this guy is beyond me. He doesn't appear to be capable of failure.

  9. Yes, His not going is yet another ploy by the Repubs to try and down play the mistakes this administration has made.  It was the Federal government's fault and not the Mayor or Governors' fault because they did try, they just couldn't get cooperation from FEMA.

  10. McCain supporters are telling us he a maverick

It wouldn't look to good having Bush & Chenye around.

  11. Did Bush whip up the hurricanes?  Did Bush build the city of New Orleans below sea level?  Did Bush build New Orleans below the level of the Mississippi River?.  The reality is development should have been made in land above sea level and not as is placing citizens, rescue workers and laborers in jeopardy and foolishly building a property damage catastrophe for the Federal Government to have to handle when it should be handled by the local governments that allowed this ill advised development to take place.  This is worse than the mortgage catastrophe where we have to bail out people who bought more house than they could afford.
