There is a classifieds newspaper in WA which has items for sale and for free and is free to advertise. Is there a similar paper or magazine in Cairns which is dedicated to buying and selling?

  1. There is the Cairns Post Exchange. It is considered FNQ's only 100% local trading publication.

It only costs $1 to buy, however I am not sure about if it costs anything to advertise in it.

Here are the Cairns Post's Conact details if you would like to make any enquiries:

    Classifieds

    ph: 07 4031 3333

    fax: 07 4052 6632

    or

    General Enquiries

    07 4052 6665

  2. The only Quokka I know of are the ones hopping around on Rottnest Island!

There are no 'free advert' papers in Cairns that I know of. There is of course The Trading Post, which I presume you have a version of in WA. In this you only pay when your item is sold. Your local newsagent should be able to get you a copy of the Queensland edition to see their advert policy/prices. Or get them online.

  3. In the Cairns post on Wednesdays there is a bargain section.  You can advertise FREE if you are selling an item less than $100 (and has to be 3 lines or less)
